Dr. Elmar C. Fuchs is a leading authority on water interactions with external fields, specialising in their application for sustainable water-treatment technology. As Programme Manager at Wetsus, he coordinates the Applied Water Physics research theme, driving innovation in water purification and treatment methods. His research interests include applied water physics, electrohydrodynamics, floating water bridges, charged water, magnetic treatment, and vortex aeration. Beyond his scientific endeavours, Dr. Fuchs is also co-founder of the Cosmic Water Foundation, furthering his mission to leverage water science for global sustainability.
Professor Niall English is the lead inventor behind the electrostriction nanobubble generation technology used by AquaB Nanobubble Innovations, a groundbreaking innovation in nanoscience and water treatment. Recognised globally for his expertise in external-field effects at the nanoscale, his research spans electric-field phenomena, nanobubbles, carbon capture, and gas hydrates. Alongside his role in commercialising AquaB’s technology, he is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at University College Dublin, where he explores how electric-field-generated nanobubbles and nanodroplets can be optimised for applications in water treatment, agriculture, aquaculture, and carbon capture.
Dr. Amr Abdel-Fattah is a leading expert in colloid and interface science, electrokinetics, and microfluidics, with a focus on stimuli-induced phenomena in colloidal materials. As head of the In-Situ Sensing and Intervention Team at Aramco’s EXPEC-ARC centre, he also leads the Upstream Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials programme. His work is dedicated to pioneering advancements in energy, materials, and sensing technologies. Before joining Aramco, he spent over 15 years at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he rose to the position of Senior Scientist, contributing significantly to scientific breakthroughs in his field.
Dr. Cees Kamp is a specialist in water vortex phenomena, ultrafine-bubble generation, and water-flow product engineering, with a passion for biomimicry in design. As a chemical engineer, he has contributed to Shell Chemicals and EuroSupport in process-equipment development. He later founded Turritech, where he spearheaded the design of the Turritap vortex water-processing unit, an innovative system that is gaining global recognition. He is an advocate of biomimicry in product design to address challenges and to provide solutions for today’s water-treatment challenges.
